Day 1, Arrival in Jaisalmer
Morning: Upon your arrival in Jodhpur, you will be transferred to Jaisalmer, located about 300 kilometers away. After a scenic drive, check into your hotel upon reaching Jaisalmer. Known as the "Golden City," Jaisalmer is a captivating desert town founded around 800 years ago by Rawal Jaisal. With its unique charm and historical significance as a key trading post on the camel routes, Jaisalmer stands out as one of Rajasthan's most enchanting destinations. En Route: Before reaching Jaisalmer, you'll visit the Jaisalmer War Museum, located about 15 kilometers before the city. This museum honors the bravery of the Indian Army, showcasing its valor and contributions, particularly during the 1965 Indo-Pak War and the 1971 Longewala Battle. It’s a fascinating stop that highlights the military history of the region. Afternoon: After checking in and enjoying a late lunch, you'll explore some of Jaisalmer’s notable landmarks: Evening: You’ll have free time to wander through Jaisalmer’s vibrant bazaars. Day 2, Jaisalmer City Tour
Morning: After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we'll begin our exploration of Jaisalmer. This city, known for its golden-yellow sandstone architecture, has a rich history tied to the camel trade route. Wealthy merchants once built grand mansions, known as havelis, to showcase their prosperity. Key Highlights: Patwaon Ki Haveli: The most elaborate and magnificent haveli in Jaisalmer, built by five Jain brothers between 1800 and 1860. Salim Singh Ki Haveli & Nathmal Ki Haveli: These havelis are open to visitors and offer a glimpse into the opulent past of Jaisalmer. We'll also visit the impressive Jaisalmer Fort, built in 1156 by the Bhatti ruler Jaisal. Perched atop the 80-meter high Trikuta Hill, this fortress is surrounded by three walls and 99 bastions. Over the centuries, it has witnessed numerous battles between the Bhatti Rajputs, the Mughals, and the Rathores of Jodhpur. Inside the fort, you'll find intricately carved Jain temples dating from the 12th to 15th centuries, which house ancient manuscripts and astrological charts. Afternoon: You’ll have free time to explore Jaisalmer’s vibrant bazaars. This is a great opportunity for personal exploration and shopping, where you can soak up the local culture and pick up unique souvenirs. Evening: Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3, Jaisalmer – Excursion to Tanot, Longewala, and Sam Sand Dunes
Morning: After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to explore some of the most fascinating sights around Jaisalmer. First Stop: Tanot (120 km) Tanot Temple: This historic site is known for its role in the Indo-Pakistani War. During the conflict, over 100 bombs were dropped on this area, but miraculously, many did not explode. The temple, which survived this intense bombardment, now displays some of these unexploded shells. Ramgarh Village & TV Tower: On your way to Tanot, you will pass through Ramgarh village and see the impressive 300-meter high TV Tower, once the tallest in India. You'll also cross the Indira Gandhi Canal, the longest canal in India and a major irrigation project. Interaction with Soldiers: Spend some time with Indian soldiers stationed at Tanot. They will share stories of the region's history, allowing you to appreciate their bravery and sacrifice. Second Stop: Longewala (50 km) Longewala Battle Site: This location is famous for the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The battlefield and war memorial are important sites for paying homage to the soldiers who defended this post. The scenery is striking, with vast stretches of sand making for a memorable drive. Evening: Sam Sand Dunes (120 km): After visiting Longewala, head to Sam Sand Dunes. Located about 42 kilometers from Jaisalmer, this area offers a stunning desert landscape where you can experience camel rides and witness a beautiful desert sunset. The shifting sands create unique patterns and motifs, adding to the desert’s charm. Return & Overnight: Check in at your desert camp near Sam Sand Dunes for an overnight stay. Day 4, Jaisalmer – Excursion to Sam Sand Dunes and Local Sights
Morning: After a hearty breakfast, set out for a full day of exploration around Jaisalmer. 1. Gadsisar Lake: Start your day with a visit to this scenic rainwater lake. Surrounded by charming shrines and a beautifully arched gateway, it’s a perfect spot for a relaxing outing. 2. Lodhurva: Lodhurva: Drive 16 kilometers to visit this ancient capital of the Bhatti dynasty. Though mostly in ruins, Lodhurva is renowned for its exquisite Jain temple featuring intricate screen carvings, a grand ceiling, and a stunning arch at the entrance. The temple also houses a historic deity carriage from 1675 and the mythical Kalpataru tree, believed to grant wishes. The area is home to numerous peacocks, adding vibrant colors to the arid landscape. The nearby river Kak, which once flowed through here, is tied to the tragic love story of Princess Momal and Prince Mathendru, a theme celebrated in local folk songs. 3. Amar Sagar: On your way back to Jaisalmer, stop by Amar Sagar. This site features a grand artificial reservoir, a temple, and a pleasant promenade along the water’s edge.
